Flank Steak


For the marinade:

  • 1/4 cup of fresh lime juice ( 3 limes)
  • 1 orange, juiced
  • 3 garlic cloves, smashed
  • 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • Coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper

For the steak:

  • 1 (2lb) flank steak, fat removed


flank-steak-recipe-all-natural-homestead-beefPlace the lime juice, orange juice, garlic, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper in a large plastic bag in a shallow baking dish.  Add the steak and turn to coat both sides.  Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.  Pull the steak from refrigerator and, leaving in the bag, allow it to come to room temperature ( about 10 minutes)

Heat the grill to medium -high heat.  Remove the steak from the marinade and season both sides with salt and pepper.  Grill for 5-7 minutes on each side for medium rare.  Let rest for 10 minutes then thinly slice the steak against the grain.  Serve on a platter atop steamed, mixed veggies for a complete meal.
